ABOUT THE COLLEGE

INTRODUCTION MORIGAON COLLEGE WAS ESTABLISHED ON 1ST JULY, 1964. IT IS ONE OF THE OLDEST INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER EDUCATION OF UNDIVIDED NAGAON DISTRICT OF ASSAM. IT HAS ALREADY COMPLETED 58 YEARS AS ONE OF THE PREMIERE INSTITUTIONS ACTIVELY ENGAGED IN NURTURING AND DISSEMINATING RAY OF EDUCATION IN THE REGION. THE COLLEGE IS LOCATED IN THE EASTERN PART OF THE MORIGAON TOWN, WHICH IS ALSO THE HEADQUARTER OF MORIGAON DISTRICT OF ASSAM. IT IS 70 KM AWAY FROM DISPUR, THE STATE CAPITAL OF ASSAM. THE NEAREST RAILWAY STATION IS JAGIROAD (23KM) AND NEAREST AIRPORT IS LGB AIRPORT, BORJHAR, GUWAHATI (96 KM). IN ITS INITIAL TWO DECADES, THE COLLEGE IMPARTED EDUCATION ONLY IN ARTS STREAM. THE SCIENCE STREAM WAS INTRODUCED IN 1985

In keeping with its mission and vision, the College is aimed at igniting young minds towards acquiring knowledge in diverse fields thereby contributing towards a progress-oriented society with committed individuals. To bring this into effect, a dedicated team of teachers and staff works diligently towards character building, enhancing efficiency and self realization of the students. “A nation is advanced in proportion to education and intelligence spread among the masses”, these words of Swami Vivekananda ring true to our hearts and mind.
